How to add a new provider number on PRODA?

Both providers and delegates can set up provider numbers for prescribers.

Generating A New Prescriber Number

  1. If you're a delegate, login in HPOS and select My Providers button in the top right corner.

  2. Click select on your provider to access their PRODA account. If you cannot see the provider you're looking for, you need to either request delegate access, or if you have already done so, ask them to accept delegate access.

  3. Click on my details:

    • If you are a delegate, you will see a You are acting on behalf of... blue banner at the top of the menu


  4. Click My Provider Numbers

  5. Click Create New Provider Location

  6. Then follow the form to finalise:

Common Issues

  • Organisation Site ID: Otherwise known as Minor Site ID, these are often generated by your payment platform, such as Tyro Health. It is not mandatory and primarily used for Medicare/DVA Billing.

  • Address: If you have an address with a suite, or apartment ID it's often very buggy, follow our guide below to rectify this.

Address Error

The error messages below are common when setting up a provider number. It will tell you: We have adjusted your address however it will then delete the floor/suite etc numbers and when you try to add these, you will receive another error message.


To solve this:

  1. Click Clear

  2. Click Manual Entry

  3. Enter only the Street Name. Enter the street number in the street number field (do not include suite or floors) and put your street name only in the Street Name field. Do not click any values that appear in the drop down, click to the side of that to close it.

  4. Search for the suburb name under locality:

    • Click one of the options and it will pre-populate the postcode for you. If you cannot find your suburb click the value under Your Input then enter the postcode manually.

    • Click next and it will take you to the next screen to finalise the rest of your details.

    • If you are still receiving an error message, you have likely clicked one of the drop downs when entering the street address. You need to click Clear > Manual entry, and start again.
