What are Unlisted DVA Medicines?

When prescribing under the Repatriation Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (RPBS), you may encounter medications that are covered under RPBS but not listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). In these cases, prescribers must obtain an Unlisted Repatriation Authority before prescribing.

This process ensures that eligible veterans receive the medications they need, even if the drug is not available through the standard PBS listing. To prescribe an unlisted RPBS medication, prescribers must request approval and obtain an RPBS Phone Approval Number by calling 1800 552 580.

Steps

⚠️ In order write prescriptions your organisation admin should have assigned you a prescriber seat, your organisation should have been set up and validated, you should have set up your Prescriber account and you should have added a verified patient, including their DVA number. If you do not know your patient's DVA number you (or a delegate) can look this up via PRODA
