How do manually generate an ERX entity ID?

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Our ERX entity generation is automatic, however if you are switching software at the same location, sometimes this fails and you need to manually generate an ID. This is an ERX security provision.

Each prescriber must have their own ERX entity ID. If you have an ID for another software, you will need to re-register again with Parchment. This does not need to be completed by a provider and can be done so by any staff member.

Steps

  1. Click here to access the ERX registration form

  2. Fill in the form and submit it to ERX. You must select Parchment ePrescriptions from the Prescribing Software list

  3. If you are not eligible for a prescriber number (i.e. you are a podiatrist), simply add a fake prescriber number such as 1234567 into the prescriber number field in (1) and add a comment detailing your qualification and that you are ineligible for a prescriber number in (2)

Timeline to receive your ID

  • Your ID will be emailed to us and we will add it to your account.

  • It usually takes 1 day to receive this, but may take up to 3 business days.

  • If it is urgent, please email [email protected] and we can try and expedite this for you.

ERX is the government funded National Prescription Delivery Service. ERX is the software that connects Parchment to pharmacies to dispense medication. You can read more about ERX here.
