Your organisation needs a Healthcare Provider Identifier-Organisation (HPI-O) to access electronic prescribing. A HPI-O is a unique number that identifies your organisation in the HI Service.
When you register a seed organisation in the HI Service and My Health Record, you will be assigned as the responsible officer (RO) and organisation maintenance officer (OMO). Only the RO can register a seed organisation because it’s the primary organisation. You can add additional OMOs after registering your organisation to assist with management.
Steps
⚠️ If you are setting up a brand new HPI-O for your practice, your organisation type is likely a a Seed Organisation. If you are a part of a network with an existing HPI-O, you would register as a Network Organisation. You can read more about these roles at Services Australia. |
